Our Team

NaZemi draws on more than 20 years of experience in educating teachers and educators who support young people in understanding and responding to today’s multiple crises. Our work focuses on critical and transformative education that helps learners make sense of complex global challenges and develop the capacity for meaningful action.

We have organized 3 summer schools focused on critical pedagogy and transformative education, creating learning spaces for educators seeking deeper approaches to teaching and social change.

In 2024, our facilitators worked in 27 schools and delivered 66 educational programmes. We also organized 9 short-term and long-term courses for teachers and educators and held workshops on transformative education. Our work includes designing educational programmes and accredited courses for teachers.

NaZemi has been among the pioneers of critical pedagogy in the Czech context, building on the ideas of Paulo Freire and developing programmes such as Futuropolis and Generation symbiocene . Find the English summary of our experience with transformative education for young adults in this publication (in English from page 73) .

Our Team

Tereza Volmutová

Educator & Methodology specialist & Campaigner for Just Transition in Garment Industry

Tereza has been working as an educator and methodology specialist at NaZemi for nearly a decade. She focuses on developing innovative educational approaches that respond to today’s interconnected social and environmental crises.

She believes that meaningful learning must extend beyond the classroom, engaging directly with real-world challenges while drawing inspiration from nature as a source of insight and knowledge. She has co-designed and coordinated a year-long academy focused on systemic change for engaged young people.

Her expertise lies in global development education, with a particular focus on the social and environmental impacts of the clothing industry and pathways towards its transformation. She brings these topics into formal education settings, while also creating learning experiences that are participatory, experiential, and holistic.

Our Team

Filip Kňažek

Educator & Coach & Self-discovery guide

Filip is a facilitator, coach, and non-formal education lecturer with experience working with groups in the Czech Republic and internationally since 2016. He focuses on education, mindfulness, personal development, teacher wellbeing, and connecting with nature.

He teaches at the Faculty of Arts at Masaryk University in Brno and at SOFA , where he works with trauma-informed approaches and supports teacher wellbeing.

Filip draws inspiration from approaches such as process work, Bill Plotkin’s eco-centric framework, and nonviolent communication. Passionate about self-development, nature, and cultural exploration, he believes that personal transformation can positively ripple out to the wider world—a principle he brings to life in this summer school.

Our Team

Eliška Hanzlová

Educator & Methodology specialist & Mentor

Eliška draws on her background in non-formal education, which she fell in love with more than 20 years ago. She believes it is essential that people participate willingly and voluntarily, and that they determine for themselves what they learn and when. This stands in contrast to her experience with teaching at a high school, which inspired her to view education from a more systemic perspective. She sees fostering imagination, deep relationships with people and the world, and caring for everyone’s well-being as essential for change.

She has been involved with education in NaZemi for 10 years, and she has learned there to think critically, to be bolder in her visions of a more just world, and to educate and support educators in their work. She enjoys being outdoors and finds fulfillment in crafts, stories, and culture.
